windows 7 stuff

I've got windows 7 ultimate and for some reason i can't run samp. Halp :ashobon:

with xp it ran smoothly

You could try and run it as an administrator, if you haven't already tried that already. As that was preventing me from playing on SAMP when I first installed windows 7.

run as admin, run in win98 compatibility mode, delete gta.set file

did you put it as an exception on the firewall? Being samp and the gta story mode runner.

As a matter of fact i too saw what's happening with sat oru's pc. It's not about the soundcard nor the graphic-chipset thingy, it's plainly crashing after the game is loading. Neither does gta-sa work on its own.
I think it's some weird windows version issue as i had plenty of windows 7 versions and they quite differ. I strongly recommend, therefore, he should re-install his windows or try my PRO version.

PS. we tried all those stuff with the compatibility issues, dxdiag is fine etc...
