I qualified my statement by saying modern cities. Having lived in two cities both founded more than a thousand years ago, I'm aware of the organic nature of their development. By modern I guess I meant cities built (or at least substantially altered) within the last few hundred years such as SF, NY, DC, etc. (with the exception being a few diagonal roads here and there).Rob wrote:most major (old world) cities arise organically and don't subscribe to a planned grid layout; exceptions are manhattan and DC, along with cities designed entirely by committee for use by governments (for instance brasillia is a planned city designed to be used as brazil's capital, it also suffers from being a piece of shit in that it has an incredibly high rate pedestrian fatalities as it has no crosswalks and is designed entirely for car travel) (chinese cities also hold to this)
Yes this is a good idea. In addition to buses and trolleys, I also liked the suggestion of adding a little bit of traffic with bot cars from a few posts up. But adding synched lights or radio would be dumb.more on topic, you can just put the trolley bots back in the game as most of the major roads in san fierro have trolleys running across them, and steal the bus bot idea from primnet
