Fyi..
I've been smoke free for 11 days now (record), still some headaches and or fatigue moments now and then but I think I'll make it out alive
ps. Got told by school nurse it's good to write down how you are managing the abstinence and since this community is so caring (yes) I' decided to update you here.

Re: Fyi..
In 20 minutes, your blood pressure and pulse rate decrease, and the body temperature of your hands and feet increase.
Carbon monoxide in cigarette smoke reduces the blood’s ability to carry oxygen.
At 8 hours, the carbon monoxide level in your blood decreases to normal. With the decrease in carbon monoxide, your blood oxygen level increases to normal.
At 24 hours, your risk of having a heart attack decreases.
At 48 hours, nerve endings start to regrow and the ability to smell and taste is enhanced.
Between 2 weeks and 3 months, your circulation improves, walking becomes easier and you don’t cough or wheeze as often. Phlegm production decreases. Within several months, you have significant improvement in lung function.
In 1 to 9 months, coughs, sinus congestion, fatigue and shortness of breath decrease as you continue to see significant improvement in lung function. Cilia, tiny hair-like structures that move mucus out of the lungs, regain normal function.
In 1 year, risk of coronary heart disease and heart attack is reduced to half that of a smoker.
Between 5 and 15 years after quitting, your risk of having a stroke returns to that of a non-smoker.
In 10 years, your risk of lung cancer drops. Additionally, your risk of cancer of the mouth, throat, esophagus, bladder, kidney and pancreas decrease. Even after a decade of not smoking however, your risk of lung cancer remains higher than in people who have never smoked. Your risk of ulcer also decreases.
In 15 years, your risk of coronary heart disease and heart attack in similar to that of people who have never smoked. The risk of death returns to nearly the level of a non-smoker.

That is supposed to motivate you to get healthier via quitting, how does it decrease motivation?

If anything, that should encourage you not to lapse and start smoking again. All that progress would be gone.Aker_Mazreku wrote:Because of the timespan of those things. 1 month - 15 years

Re: Fyi..
I quit smoking six months ago after smoking for like 7 years (heavy smoker too) and the only thing that made me do it was the gym.
You're not out of the danger zone until you reach one month but if you keep yourself occupied during that period it shouldn't be such a big problem. Good job keeping cigs away until now, keep it up bro.

Fuck it, I was so close.. back to day 1 again I suppose. This time I'm going to try a new approach, I'm not going to read, watch or listen to anything that has to do with cigarettes. Block it off entirely.

Re: Fyi..
Wish I had the will power to do that shit. I love smoking right after the ganja though; so it always seems to be a necessity.
Re: Fyi..
aww aker good job bro, 11 days is a long while, its gonna be hard quiting it suddenly forever, so try to reduce the amount of times you smoke, like say, make it 3 times a week, keep this up for 2 weeks, then make it twice a week, and so on. that way its gonna help and reduce your need for smokin, and each puff would be enjoyed more, but at the end you'll realize you don't need it
hope that helps
cheers
