I understand both Adj's point as well as Zaph's point.

We aren't looking for any special treatment by no means. We just want to get Mafia going once again and it's just discouraging because we really haven't ever had to apply for the spot before. Mafia is just apart of SZR. Don't get me wrong, its been slowly going downhill since Adj had to kinda stop playing, but we can always improve. We have many willing players who want to come back as soon as Mafia gets created and it seems like that is what we are all waiting for.

What exactly is going to make this Mafia different from the two or three weeks of Adj Mafia pre-wipe? You had red names and cars and the mansion and all that good stuff, but I don't really remember the effort or your presence being sustained.

Are you fucking serious, Adj? Even the Yakuza had to do the same stuff. The Mafia isn't special.

If you can't keep a gang together without having red names, then maybe you're not ready to be put in??
In my opinion the Yakuza didn't need to prove themselves again neither, the Yakuza and Mafia are (or maybe better say 'were') special, durable, hard coded factions. You say the Mafia isn't special, I just thought differently. Thinking Johnny and I had a say about the Mafia was also due to a pm from Juke 8 months ago:
Hello Mr. Vizzini, Mr. Fantico, and Mr. Sciacca.

I have included you three as the 'elders' of the Mafia family. You have all done your part to keep the high standards of the Mafia and keep the Mafia name one of the most respected in the city.

You will forever be included as elders and have a say in Mafia affairs. But in case you did not know, right now there is no Mafia. ...
I do understand the doubts about the Mafia very well because of inactivity, I have those doubts as well. My point was that times have changed and anything that could benefit the server should be heavily supported. I suppose that won't happen, and I have the feeling I have underestimated the appreciation of my attempt here. Without appreciation and support I'll stop trying.

we strongly considered removing slots 11 and 12 because people have this notion yakuza and mafia are special and permanent when they really aren't

e: the elders thing was about every gang app trying to be the next mafia/yakuza/grove and take a story that didn't "belong" to them

i did the same for brigada for example, but they're the only gang i can think of where they disbanded and later someone tried to take a name/story that the founder didn't want to give up

Hi you didn't answer this question at all.

We did the "give Adj what he wants without preconditions" thing prior to the wipe, and what we got out of that arrangement wasn't really what we were looking for.

as a former leader of several gangs and vagos i appreciate everyone who attempts to lead a gang here. i appreciate it even more when someone actually comes back for more after knowing it takes so much time

that's kind of a silly thing to say, adj, but if that's what it takes then i will explicitly say right now thank you :)

Gia was leader when I came back and had something running. She made me leader, not you. I didn't want to erase her plans with mine, so we went with her plan of taking in arabs and other slow-learning poor guys because no one else would try to make something out of them. A noble thing to do, in some cases even with results, but it didn't work so well as it was bad for the rep and it scared off others returning to me.

Everyone knows that Mafia had a great past but now Mafia isn't the same anymore and that's why I didn't re-join. No one takes leadership of the faction anymore and people do what they want. Before people were actually acting as their role as a solider, etc. Everyday I see the same stuff, "Casino open, casino open." What happened to convoys, roleplaying events, and faction mat runs? In my opinion, Mafia's expectations has dropped a lot and I doubt it will be the same again. No offense to Adj but I rarely see you on nowadays and what's the difference without having the slot? You're still able to roleplay and have fun just without red names, /claim, and faction chat. I know I sound like a dick but at least show the server that Mafia is alive and running so people know that you're here and deserve the slot again. It's not just Mafia but the whole server, I know it's light roleplay but c'mon at least roleplay rather then poopsocking and tabbing for 40 minutes. If you see a new person in the server, take him under your wing and teach him rather than "Fuck off, noob." Unless they're a total shithead. Don't you guys remember how noob I used to be back in the days? Well Mafia took me under the wing and taught me a lot.

The mafia needs a way better decent/retard ratio and more activity. If Adj can get that done he deserves the slot.

Tried that before and never really worked out, they'd just go back into their old habits of fucking around in a non-chill way. Sadly the ones you're trying to teach are same ones I tried too. But anyways good luck trying to work that out.
