Welcome to Secret Zombie Room Roleplaying Game (SZR)!
In this guide you will hopefully find everything you need to get started on this server.
//Basic Rules//
1.) NO HACKS OR MODS OF ANY KIND
Never, ever, ever use hacks, mods, trainers, glitches, exploits, or anything else resembling any of these on SZR. You will be banned. You will probably not be unbanned. We have excellent hack detection running on SZR, and you will be found out.
2.) NO DEATHMATCHING
Don't run around killing people without a good reason. If you haven't given your victim a chance to respond to you verbally, you're breaking this rule. Demanding large sums of money is NOT a good reason. Roleplaying a psychopath/criminal is NOT a good reason. It is pretty easy to find good reasons though - just start talking to people.
3.) NO LOGGING TO AVOID DEATH/ARREST/ADMIN
If you're being chased, attacked, arrested, or spoken to by an admin, DO NOT DISCONNECT FROM THE SERVER. This is considered to be outright cheating, and you will be warned, then banned.
4.) NO ACCOUNT FARMING/ACCOUNT SHARING/DUAL BOXING/METAGAMING/OOC SCAMMING
The newbie money on accounts is there to help you out. If you make numerous accounts just to take the newbie money, we will ban you. If you dual box to gain an advantage, we will ban you. If you account share to gain an advantage, we will ban you. If you switch characters to gain an advantage against other players (metagaming) we'll think you're an asshole, and probably warn you. Scams are allowed on SZR, but they MUST be in-character. If you do things including (but not limited to) logging out during a deal, pretending to be an admin, using emotes, or lying about server mechanics, we will ban you.
5.) NO DRIVERSHOOTING/CARPARKING/BLADEKILLING/PLANEBOMBING
Do not shoot from the driver seat of any vehicle. Do not park your car on top of someone to kill them. Do not kill people with the blades of a helicopter. Do not fly planes into other players to explode them. Doing these things will get you a warning, then banned.
6.) VEHICLE EXPLOITING/LAG EXPLOITING/INTERIOR EXPLOITING/WEAPON EXPLOITING/ANIMATION EXPLOITING/CARJACK KILLING
Do not shoot at people from a driverless vehicle (this is due to SA:MP sync issues). Do not sprint in circles to avoid being shot by exploiting your ping. Do not run into and out of interiors over and over to avoid being shot. Do not quickshot/c-bug. Do not use animations to exploit. Do not do a mysterious trick to instantly kill players while carjacking them. Doing these things will get you a warning, and then banned.
7.) NO SERVER ADVERTISING
If you talk about other servers, link to other servers, post a mysterious IP address, or advertise in any other way we will instantly ban you. No exceptions.
8.) NO OUT OF CHARACTER RACISM/HOMOPHOBIA
In character, it's usually fine. Out of character, it'll get you fined, fucked with, griefed, warned, banned, or all of the above.
9.) NO SPAMMING
If you use binds, make sure you do not flood the server with too many commands at once, either deliberately or by accident. This can happen when you try to use a command in a car that will only work out of a car ( as an example ). It can also happen if your keys stick. To be sure you are safe from this read this thread.
10.) DON'T BE AN ASSHOLE
This is the broad umbrella rule. If you're being an asshole, a jerk, obnoxious, etc, you will probably get warned, and then banned. This is a privately owned server that is provided to you free of charge, which is great because you get to play for free, but unlike other games you might have paid for, you have no rights. We can fuck with you or ban you for any reason. If you're a nice guy, this probably won't happen to you. If you're an asshole, it's going to.
//Getting Started; Logging in and Creating your Character//

/!\IMPORTANT/!\ PICK YOUR SKIN BEFORE YOU /REGISTER! USE THE LEFT AND RIGHT ARROW KEYS TO SELECT A SKIN
You need a unique name to play on the server. The rules for names are generally pretty liberal, but we ask that you conform to a simple Firstname_Lastname format. A name like xXxSUPERWEED420xXx will probably be changed by an admin. The syntax for the /register command is /register password. DO NOT TELL ANYONE YOUR PASSWORD, EVER!
Once you login, you'll sit through a short tutorial. PLEASE READ EVERYTHING! The tutorial is designed to inform you of important server rules. These rules are already listed above, but by sitting through the tutorial, you will get to see them again before you begin playing!! By sitting through the tutorial, you agree to all of the rules.
//Communication & Essential Commands//
You can enter any message in the chat box and it will be broadcast to anybody close to you. There are also several commands to change who you talk to.
/w(hisper) sends a message to one specific person very close to you. /w playername/id message
/s(hout) sends a message to everybody in a larger radius than the default message. /s message
/b is the general OOC command. This will put ((parentheses)) around your message. /b message
/g(ang) sends a message to members of your gang, or group. Join a group by typing /joingang #### where #### is the gang number. /g message
/f(action) sends a message to members of your faction. /f message
Both /f and /g will also show up locally, so if you are planning to shoot a dude standing next to you and you tell your buddies /g kill he!!! the dude will probably shoot you first! This prevents metagaming.
The /n command is a chat channel devoted to asking game-related questions. Do not hesitate to ask any questions you have in /n!
The /sign command signs your paycheck at the end of every hour. This is your source of income! Remember to do this!
The /pay command pays another player. This typically happens after an exchange of services.
The /stats command displays your statistics! This tells you your level, respect, money, etc.
//Respect & Leveling System (by Lockie)//
Levelling up - To level up, you need to meet respect and cash requirements. To earn respect you need to sign paychecks that come on the hour. /signcheck = +1 Respect. You can check the respect you have in /stats. E.g. if you are level 1 and have signed three paychecks then your respect would be [3/8], which means you have 3 respect of the required 8 to level up to level 2. You also need the amount of money on hand it asks for when you /buylevel, if you want to advance to level 2. Level 1 to 2 requires $50,000. Every odd numbered level gives you a paycheck increase, i.e. level 3, 5, 7, etc.
Upgrades - You receive upgrade points every level. To check how many points you have, as well as what upgrades you have and are available, type /upgrade. Then its just /upgrade and the name of the one you want. It is recommended you upgrade your toughness first to increase your bleeding threshold. So to do that you would /upgrade toughness. You need to have the asked cash amount on hand as well.
//First Steps in Los Santos//
The first thing you'll probably want to do is go to a 24/7 store and buy a phonebook. These stores are marked on the map as a white S for STORE. Once there, type /buy 1. This will buy a phonebook.
Phonebooks allow you to use the /number and /address commands. The /number command allows you to get the phone number of anybody online. The syntax for /number is /number playername/id. The address command allows you to locate the house of anybody online. The syntax for the /address command is /address playername/id.
While you're in a store, take the time to familiarize yourself with the banking commands. These are all straightforward, so I won't take the time to explain them. /withdraw, /deposit, /balance, /wiretransfer
SZR is a faction-based server. There are many factions on the server, most of them gangs. There are two public gangs that can be joined by anybody. The Vagos are located in southern Los Santos and is dedicated to teaching new players to play the game. IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY FRIENDS PLAYING ALREADY, JOIN THE VAGOS TO LEARN THE ROPES! You can find the Vagos hood by typing /joinvagos.
If you have friends already in a gang, ask them to help you out. The game is tons more fun when playing with friends with like-minded goals.
//Jobs//
SZR's job system works like this. There are many jobs, and each job does a specific thing for people. Job locations are marked by a gold coin on the map. Each job comes with a contract for one hour of ingame time. There is no limit to how long you can have a job. Each job is divided into 5 levels, except arms dealer, which progresses to level 6, and they're all advanced by doing certain things. Each new level makes your job more efficient. Job levels never go down.
Mercenary- The mercenary, or merc, is the most aggressive job. They have commands to locate, kidnap, and protect players.
Find - the /find command places a blip on the map where a certain player is. The syntax is /find playername/id.
Tie - the /tie command ties up a player in any vehicle you're in. You cannot tie the driver. They will be invincible while tied, and the ropes will eventually break. The syntax is /tie playername/id.
Frisk - the /frisk command allows you to see what another player is carrying. The syntax is /frisk playername/id.
Guard - the /guard command gives a player who is very close to you armor. As soon as you die or get too far away from them, the armor is gone. The syntax is /guard playername/id dollaramount.
Merc is advanced by /finding players.
Wheelman- The wheelman is the vehicle expert. They can repair, modify and color cars. They also come with a pilot's license. This means that wheelmen are the only players capable of flying any air vehicle.
Repair - the /repair command instantly repairs the vehicle you're in. You can also use /repair playername/id to repair another player's car.
Modcar the /modcar command allows you to add nos boosters or hydraulics to your car. The syntax is /modcar # Typing the command will give you a list of modifications you can apply.
Colorcar - the colorcar command sets a color to your car. This is purely atheistic. The syntax is /colorcar COLORID1 COLORID2.
Wheelman is advanced by /repairing other players cars with the /repair playername/id syntax.
Arms Dealers- The arms dealer is the sole provider of guns to the city. They also have the ability to pickup materials from factories around the city and sell them to mat handlers. Materials come in 4 flavors. A, B, C, an D mats. D mats are a product of A, B and C mats. They're only used to produce sniper rifles at job level 5, or refined to make back into any of the other mats. To refine mats, you must be in a gang that owns an A, B, or C mat point or you will lose 20% of your A, B, or C mats on refining, respectively.
Sellgun - the /sellgun command is the command that makes guns. Type /sellgun to get a list of weapons you can make. The syntax is /sellgun # playername/id. You can leave playername/id blank to make a gun for yourself.
Sell(a,b,c) - the /sell(a,b,c) command is for selling materials to other players. The syntax is /sell(a,b,c) amountofmats playername/id, where (a,b,c) is the type of mats you wish to sell. You can only sell mats to mat handlers as an arms dealer.
Mget & mdeliver - the /mget and /mdeliver commands are for running mats. The syntax is /mget or /mdeliver.
Arms Dealer is advanced by selling other players weapons.
Mat Handler - The mat handler is the materials salesman. Every /sell transaction must include a mat handler. They also run mats more efficiently than arms dealers. See the map above for mat locations.
Sell(a,b,c) - the /sell(a,b,c) command is for selling materials to other players. The syntax is /sell(a,b,c) amountofmats playername/id, where (a,b,c) is the type of mats you wish to sell.
Mget & mdeliver - the /mget and /mdeliver commands are for running mats. The syntax is /mget or /mdeliver.
Drugs Dealer - The drugs dealer obviously deals drugs. Check the above map for drug points.
Get - the /get command is used to pick up drugs from the drug point. The syntax is /get DRUG amount
Sellpot - the /sellpot command sells pot. The syntax is /sellpot POTAMOUNT PRICE
Sellcrack - the /sellcrack command sells crack. The syntax is /sellcrack CRACKAMOUNT PRICE
Drug Dealer is advanced by selling other players drugs.
Lawyer - the lawyer is one of the most powerful on the server! They can release players from jail, protect them from /finds, and even drop wanted levels. They also sell insurance and can shorten job contracts.
Wanted & Cases - these commands tell you if anybody is wanted by police, or if anybody is currently in jail. The syntax is /wanted or /cases.
Defend - the /defend command is for removing wanted levels from other players. The syntax is /defend playername/id. You need to be close by for this to take effect.
Free - the /free command is for freeing players from jail if they don't want to pay their bail. The syntax is /free playername/id. You need to be close by for this to take effect.
Tinfoil - the /tinfoil command makes it so that a merc cannot /find the player you're tinfoiling. The syntax is /tinfoil playername/id.
Insure - the /insure command sells insurance to another player. The syntax is /insure playername/id NUMBEROFPOLICIES Insurance will be explained in greater detail later on.
Jobcontact - the /jobcontract command reduces the time a player must wait to change jobs. The syntax is /jobcontract playername/id price.
Lawyer is advanced by using the /free command to get people out of jail, by using the /defend command to remove wanted levels, and the /tinfoil command to hide players.
Locksmith - the locksmith job has many abilities. They can drive tow trucks located at the job location -- these are required to perform the locksmith commands!
Pget & Pdeliver - these make lock parts, which are required for making locks. The syntax is /pget and /pdeliver.
V Lock - this command allows you to install locks on vehicles. The syntax is /v lock.
V Trunk - this command allows you to install a trunk into a car. The syntax is /v trunk.
Locksmith is advanced by selling other players locks.
//Activities (by Darnell & Lockie)//
Fishing
You can go fishing at the fishing pier in Los Santos. Look for the Ferris wheel on the beach. Use /fish in front of a fishing rod to case your line. As you get better, you will catch bigger fish. Once you catch a fish, use /fishes to see what fish you’ve caught. Caught a small one? /throwback to get rid of it. Want to get of one of them? /throwback. All of them? /throwbackall. You can sell fish over 20lbs at the 24/7 using the /sell fish command.
Dropcar
Find a car you don't want? /dropcar will place a beacon on your map. Drive there and you get paid. You can sell cars more often as you increase in skill, and you also get paid more! Bring a buddy so you don’t have to walk back!
Delivery
Typing /delivery places a blip on your map. Go to this blip and pick up a delivery truck. Follow the blips it places on your map for easy money!
Scanners & Bugs
Anyone can /buy bugs and scanners from the electronic store. Type /help bugs and follow the marker to find it. You can place a listening device with /bug [Frequency] and then /scanner [frequency]. Bugs have batteries for 20minutes, and will broadcast to anyone scanning that frequency. You will lose any scanners or bugs that you are carrying if you die, but you can /locker or /trunk them. If you store these in your car, they won't get removed if the car is destroyed. You can buy a /detector ( scanner type 2 ) from the electronics shop to scan for bugs, and if you find one you can /killbug.
//Houses & Cars (by Darnell)//
You can purchase a house anywhere on SZR. Find a good spot, and let’s get started! First, stand at the entrance of the house and type /buyhouse entrance. Then, stand where you want your car. Face the direction you want your car to point and /buyhouse car. Once you’ve done this, buy /buyhouse level 1-10 Each house level costs $50000. To invite someone over, type /houseinvite name/id. Use /home to find your house. Neighborhood going downhill? Simply type /sellhouse to sell your house.
To buy a car you will have to find a car yard. There are 9 places to buy vehicles. Type /help car, or /help lowrider, luxury, super, truck, utility, boat, bike, plane. Get in a vehicle that is for sale, and follow the instructions. Type /v help for vehicle commands. Remember to /v setpark your vehicle, then /park it before you log off. You can also buy vehicles from other players, modify them, color them, and buy locks for them. Vehicle locks have an override code that you can give to your friends so they can drive/ride it.
//Factions & Gangs//
There are many factions and gangs in the server. This section will be a short description of each of the permanent factions and gangs. Gangs that are not permanent will not be included.
Factions
Los Santos Police Department Cool Kids Corps. These players have dark blue, purplish names. They're cops with more power.
Los Santos Police Department Officers. These players have blue names. They're the mainstay of the police force.
Los Santos Police Department Traffic Officers. These players have lighter blue names. They're the police, but they handle traffic violations.
San Andreas Security, or SAS. These players have light blue names, almost slate gray. They're sort of cops. Anybody in the SAS is probably an admin or moderator.
Arab Taxi Company], or Arab Taxi - These players have brownish yellow names. They're taxi drivers. Use the /service donkey command to hail a cab.
Salmonski Taxi Company, or Taxi - These players have yellow names. They're mostly retired admins or Cool Dudes With Radical Tudes. Avoid at all costs!!!
Permanent Gangs
Mafia - Red names. Italian mobsters operating out Madd Dog's mansion in northern Los Santos.
Yakuza - Gray names. Japanese mobsters operating out of the teahouse in western Los Santos.
Ballas - Purple names. Black gangsters operating out of the nightclub in northern Los Santos. This is a public gang.
Vagos - Light yellow names. Mexican gangsters operating out of their hood in southern Los Santos. This is a public gang.
