Arms Dealer

What they do

They sell guns. Everybody needs guns.

Getting The Job

As with any job, you have to go to the 'i' marker (a yellow circle on the map) and get it. If you look at the server map at the top of this page, you'll see that it's in the middle of Los Santos just outside Ammunation.

Image

When you stand on the marker, the game will tell you what to do. DO NOT GO INTO AMMUNATION. You'll get shot fifteen times by an angry gun store owner. After typing /join and then /accept job you'll be an arms dealer for at least an hour.

Mat Runs

The basic mechanic of arms dealing is that packages = materials = guns. A Mat Run [which is how you get materials to make guns] is as follows:

Go to a materials pickup as marked on the map at the top of this thread. Find the yellow 'i' and then sit on top of it - you can do this whilst in your car as well. In game, materials pickups are marked on the map as 'MC'.

Image

Again, the game will tell you what to do. There are three mat pickups however if you use the one on the beach, you must use the materials factory in San Fierro. Depending on which pickup you have gone to, you have now just bought either 5 or 14 packages. One package is 50 materials and it costs money to use the pickup or the dropoff, so make sure you have at least 3k on hand to be safe. Once you've got your package you can then drive to a factory:

Image

In game, factories are marked on the map as darker coloured pistols. Once you have delivered you packages to the factory, you will now have materials that you can use to make guns. To find out how much materials you have, type /stats.

Image

/stats is used for alot of stuff, but the field we want is materials which is on the second line from the bottom and is the third field from the left. So we have materials, but what do we do with them? We /sellgun:

Image

The command structure is pretty simple: /sellgun [playerid/PartOfName] [weaponname]. So /sellgun Nurgle shotgun would give Nurgle a shotgun costing 200 materials if he was standing near you. /sellgun also shows you what guns you can sell and how many materials they cost to sell. Note that /sellgun gives them the gun without payment. Which brings us to:

Tips & Advice

The #1 thing you do not want to happen is to /sellgun someone and have them shoot you with your own gun without paying for it. So the number one rule of arms dealing to strangers is always get the cash before you give them the gun. But there a few other things you can do to minimise the chance of getting shot as an arms dealer:

-Bring a friend. Maybe a drug dealer who can sell pot to your customers as well as your guns, but any friend will do.
-Deal from a car. If you're in a car, you can still deal guns to people around you and you can also drive away if the shit hits the fan.
-Don't deal in front of cops or FBI. Dealing guns, even legal ones, is illegal. Don't get yourself arrested.
-Matrunning in groups tends to be more efficient as you may not have to drive the entire time. If you have a wheelman friend that solves the need to refuel at a gas station or repair at a pay-n-spray. Also a wheelman in a helicopter will speed up your mat runs alot.

Here are some suggested prices.

SDPistol - 300
MP5 - 1000
Shotgun - 1000
Rifle - 3500
AK47 - 7000
M4 - 12000
SPAS12 - 15000

Good luck.

Merchant Jobs

*Arms dealer tutorial by Nurgle*

Drug dealer

Drug Dealers can supply their clients with weed and crack. Although both are illegal to carry or use, they are on almost citizens in Los Santos. A player can smoke two grams of weed to regain a portion of health with /usepot, or two grams of crack to regain armor with /usecrack.

As you level up your drug dealer skill, both will become cheaper to buy from the drug dens in town. There are two drug dens that are owned by gangs, but unless they are "vulnerable to capture" they are always open to the public. These drug dens show as big "D"s on the map.

Service Jobs

Wheelman

Wheelmen are masters of machines. They can drastically increase the potency of a car, helicopter, or plane.

Wheelmen are the only job that will allow you to /repair while on the move. This will restore your vehicles health, but it will not re inflate any popped tires, or fix any visual damage to your vehicle.

A wheelman can mod a car with nitrous, giving a bit of on-demand power to let you speed out of sight. ( /modcar 2 )
Wheelmen can mod a car with hydraulics, allowing you to bounce around. ( /modcar 1 )
You can also reverse the hydraulics mod and reinstall a standard horn. ( /modcar 3 )

If that's not enough, they can also /paint any non-housecar vehicle to a new color. The full color chart can be found below.

Image

And of course, wheelman is the only job that comes with a pilot's license! A pilot's license allows you to fly helicopters and planes. This license is temporary, and will be removed immediately if you quit your job as a wheelman.

Wheelman is a very powerful and versatile job.

Mercenary

Mercenaries are most often in LSPD, but you will find quite a few outside law enforcement.

Mercenaries are used to /find anyone on the map. At level one, the red dot will appear for three seconds and you can trigger one every two minutes. Not very useful at first... but at level five a mercenary will get the red dot indefinitely, through re-/finding targets repeatedly. There are a few minor drawbacks.

If two targets are /finding the same person, you will cancel each other out and the dot will disappear for whoever triggered the first /find. It sounds minor, but if a lot of people are looking for one target it can make it very difficult.

Any lawyer can use /tinfoil to hide their target from mercenaries. This will completely hide them from your attempts.

If a player is inside an interior, that is, any building that requires them to load a new area, their arrow will appear in a strange spot. This is due to the fact interiors are located far far above the game map, incoherent with the location of the actual building. Some interiors that will remain nameless will actually not give a red marker at all.

Mercenaries can also /tie and /untie anyone inside of their vehicle. This turns them into an effective kidnapper. Anyone who is tied will be unable to exit the vehicle on their own, although the driver may /eject them (such as over a bridge...)

After three(?) minutes, a player will automatically "break" their ties. Regardless, you should not leave people tied in the middle of nowhere, as it's borderline griefing. If you're going to dump them, untie them first, please.

You should also note that anyone who leaves the server while tied or handcuffed will automatically be jailed ten minutes to avoid people "relogging" as a means of escape.

Mercenaries can also /guard a target for a minimum of $2000, which will give them full armor. The drawback is that if the mercenary and his guarded target get too far apart, the target will instantly lose all his armor. Unfortunately, this also means that if at any point they need to enter an interior, the distance of teleporting to the interior will cause the armor to disappear.

Lawyer

Forget guns and fast cars, the most powerful tool to evade the police is a good lawyer.

/wanted will show all current fugitives with any amount of wanted levels. Cops should /suspect someone the moment they commit a crime, but it's common to wait until a suspect is in custody before putting on wanted levels and tabulating the fine and jail time someone will receive.

Once you find a suspect on the wanted list, you can hide them with /tinfoil to avoid anyone being able to hunt them down with mercenary. This will be extremely useful, allowing you to escort a single fugitive to a hidden location until things blow over. A lawyer can then use /defend to remove wanted levels one at a time. NOTE: This will not work while inside a car, so have a hideout planned while you are helping them. But beware, helping a violent criminal and removing their wanted levels in this fashion will probably make you an accessory to their crimes! If you are discovered, you will likely receive half of all of your clients punishment. If you try to help a group of people, the police can simply /find someone else. If the police know you're helping a fugitive, they can find you!

Failing that, /cases will show those who have already been captured and are in jail serving their time. You can then try to /free someone, assuming they have a bail price. If you wish to talk to a client in jail face to face, you can call a PD officer and ask for a /doorinvite so they can buzz you into the jail cells automatically.

Will add pictures and shit to make it pretty later
