I've always thought it would be good for Mercs/PD to have a /gag command. Firstly you could hush up whiney little bitches you have detained who are shouting:

(( NON RP ))
(( NON RP ))
(( IMMA REPORT U ))

And the same goes for being a Merc. Kidnapping people will often get you and endless tirade of exactly the same thing. And secondly to just add a little more RP element into the server. I think they should maybe still be able to use /me emotes, allowing them to struggle/mumble muffled insults etc.

Alternatively, is there anyway to alter what a person says? So if they were to say a sentence such as:

"Yo face is so ugleh you made an onion cry"

It would appear as:

"Mmph mmm mmmph mmphmmph!"

The person would have to be cuffed or tied for you to be able to gag them. Otherwise they could just remove the gag themselves logically. And like cuffing and tying, it should wear off after a minute or two.

Eh, I'd say pass since any OOC chatter is just going to make me ratchet up the charges and jailtime.

Just type /me gags so-and-so, and then ignore anything they say, or type /me laughs as so-and-so's words are muffled by the gag.

And yeah you're right, i would probably miss piling on the jailtime for bitching like a little girl. And yes, i fear it would be pretty damn abused by some people. Shutting certain Cadets up for 5 minutes every now and then would be blissful though.

As long as you can /ungag yourself if you are not tied/detained. There should also be a separate gag between OOC and IC, so that if you don't like their OOC bitching, just do an OOC gag and same goes for IC.
